Glen Canyon Exposed is an extraordinary photographic and film journey through one of America’s most iconic landscapes. This traveling exhibit bridges past and present, celebrating the enduring power of art to document, inspire, and advocate for our natural world.

Explore Glen Canyon through two unique perspectives: Tad Nichols’ stunning 1950s images captured before the canyon was flooded by Lake Powell, and Dawn Kish’s contemporary photographs and film documenting the canyon’s dramatic reemergence as lake levels decline. Creating photographs with the same camera that Tad used before the Glen Canyon Dam. 

Together, these artists invite you to witness the evolving story of Glen Canyon—from a vibrant ecosystem and sacred place, through decades underwater, and now as a powerful symbol of renewal.

What started as a story for Arizona Highways Magazine about the resurgence of Glen Canyon transformed into a film titled Tad’s Emerging World: Glen Canyon Exposed (which premiered at the Banff International Film Festival). Later, it evolved into a traveling exhibit. This narrative holds immense historical, artistic, and advocacy value for our natural world, continuously educating and inspiring all generations.
